About this Collectable

Here we go again. Cayman or 911, can we say it out loud? The Cayman in S version is the better car. While we sometimes thought the first generation still looked a bit ok-isch, the second generation was already a lot 'manlier'. But after the third generation it went 'wrong'. In 2016, the Cayman got a new name ('718') and a four-cylinder with a turbo. Even more effient and stronger, but without the characteristic howl.

This example is a Cayman S from 2009. That means: after the facelift, so with 320 hp and a PDK gearbox. This car is nicely specced in Meteor Grau with black leather and features a sports exhaust, cruise control, seat heating and the Sport Chrono Plus package.

Usually the sportier version is presented later, but with the Cayman it was the other way around. The Cayman S came first and the entry-level Cayman a year later. The S version was lighter, stiffer and more powerful. This made it a very interesting alternative to the 911. The Cayman S has been widely praised by the car media.

With the facelift in 2009, the Cayman S became even more interesting. Porsche increased the power from 295 hp to 320 hp. In addition, the Tiptronic S automatic transmission was replaced by a seven-speed PDK gearbox with double clutch. Where the manual gearbox used to be even faster than the Tiptronic S, the roles were reversed with the PDK gearbox. The Cayman S therefore sprints from 0-100 km / h in 5.1 seconds. Since this copy has a launch control mode, you can even take two tenths off it.

With cruise control and seat heating, the Cayman can be used as a daily driver (which the first owner also did). With a sports exhaust and the Sport Chrono package, the sporty side of the car is further emphasized. The owner himself also had a sports steering wheel fitted with paddle shift. The reasons that he is now selling the car is purely of a practical nature, if he had not moved to another house he would certainly have driven it to the 2 tons.

About the seller

The owner had never owned a car with less than 200 horsepower or less than six cylinders. This Cayman S was therefore in line with his car history. He enjoyed driving it and made his dream ride to Lake Como, among other things. Yet he is now selling it. The car can no longer be parked inside at his new home and that is a must for him. Moreover, family expansion is on the way. So a car with more than two seats is very handy. But later in life there will certainly be another Collectable in the garage.
