The 911 is, of course, a fantastic sports car, but the mid-engined Cayman is just as much fun to drive—and, secretly, perhaps even better. While the first-generation Boxster didn't offer a coupé variant, that changed with the 987 generation. Porsche’s compact two-seater sports car was now available as a coupé, too. The Cayman was born. It featured a distinctive look of its own, characterized by a sloping rear profile. Powered by a 2.7-litre flat-six engine, the Cayman delivers 245 hp—more than enough to get the lightweight (1,275 kg) car moving briskly. It is a driver's car through and through, thanks in part to its mid-engine layout and rigid chassis. Moreover, the 2.7-litre engine is known for its reliability.

Coming up for auction with us next week is a Belgian-delivered example, complete with a full service history and extensive recent maintenance performed by a Porsche dealer.
