The Collectables Score – Car Rating 10 to 1
Collectable or not? Here’s how we score
Score overview & sample cars at each level
Collectables are emotion.
Cars you don't need, but do want. A smile per mile – and preferably per euro too. Our The Collectables score, on a scale from 10 to 1, is as follows:
Score 10 – Unicorn Collectables
A unicorn. Cars you know exist, but never see. At most in a museum. Or someone's living room. The McLaren F1, of course. A Cizeta V16T. Or an SLR Stirling Moss.
Score 9 – Legendary Hypercars
Legendary hypercars with an extremely high price or a very low production number, which you occasionally still spot in the wild. Like the Bugatti Chiron, Ferrari F40, or Porsche 918 Spyder.
Score 8 – Iconic Supercars
Supercars you regularly see at events. Typical A-to-A cars. Think of the Ferrari F12, Porsche 964 Turbo 3.6 or Lamborghini Aventador.
Score 7 – Weekend Collectable (Sporty)
A sporty Collectable for the weekend. For example an Alpine A110, Alfa Romeo 4C or Aston Martin Vantage.
Score 6 – Daily Collectable (Stock)
A Collectable you can use every day – and that also makes the streets more beautiful. Well maintained and as original as possible – maybe with a Bluetooth kit for your phone and Spotify. Volvo 850 T-5R, BMW Z4 Coupe or Porsche.
Score 5 – Tuned & Restomod Gems
The Collectable that may not be entirely original anymore – but sometimes that makes it even more fun to have. This includes not just restomods, but also a Mazda MX-5 with a modified chassis, or a beefed-up 1 Series with a bit more punch. Models from respected tuners such as Techart, Schnitzer or Abt are therefore also welcome.
Score 4 – Collectables with History
A Collectable with a past. That could mean a repaired damage, or a different / new engine. As long as it’s neatly done, demonstrable and transparent, there's no reason not to auction it on our platform.
Score 3 – Everyday Drivers
Everyday cars, like an Astra Station, a Golf TDI or a BMW 520d. Nothing wrong with them, but (often with respectable mileage) not a Collectable.
Score 2 – Budget Mods & Over-tuned
The counterparts of score 5. Often referred to as “Halfords tuning”: modified cars in the Fast & Furious category. There is probably a market for them – but not on our platform.
Score 1 – Not a Collectable
Cars with this score won’t be found on our platform. They’re not Collectable (enough), or not suited for unseen online (buying/selling). For example: no verifiable history, just a few too many owners, or no longer in original condition. These cars are better suited for sale through other channels.
