Porsche 911 Carrera S Coupé (997)
The Carrera S is equipped with a powerful 3.8 litre with a whopping 355HP. Paired with an automatic transmission, the car is great to drive on torque. Of course, it is still a sports car. High up in the revs no problem to get the maximum out of it. Thanks to the sports exhaust, the 997S has a nice howl and takes off like a rocket.
The beauty of such a 911 (997) is its practicality for every day use and especially with the automatic transmission very easy to drive. Put it in S and you have a truly fast sports car that is still one of today's top cars.
As the successor to the 996, the 997 generation was delivered between 2004 and 2012. The classic round and distinctive 911 headlights are back. The new 997 is the more modern and improved version of the 996. Many versions followed, with the top models being the now priceless 997 GT3 RS 4.0 and GT2 RS. The 997 S is actually the best compromise of sports car and daily driver.
This 997 was delivered to its first private owner in 2005. Under warranty, the engine was replaced with a new one in 2007. As far as we can tell, the car is still in its 1st paint and is equipped with a recent PCCM Plus system including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In March 2007, the car got a new private owner who kept it until 2010. The next owner had the 997 until 2011 after which the car passed to the 3rd private owner for 8 years who sold it in 2019 to the last private owner.
Our opinion
A very neat 997 that has been well looked after as evidenced by the service booklet, new PCCM Plus and first paint. The colour combination is something different from the standard grey and black. This example has come through the years clean and unspoiled. As far as we can tell, never painted on the metal parts, so really a nice bright car with logical NAP for the enthusiast.
About the seller
The last owner, a true Porsche driver, bought the car in 2019, but has several cars (mostly Porsche) that he enjoys driving. Due to purchase of a new Panamera, he doesn't think he will get to drive the 997S anymore. Although he hesitated to keep the 997S, he decided to say goodbye to the car. As already mentioned, the last owner also took good care of the car.
