About this Collectable

In 1988, Porsche presented the 964, the last air-cooled 911 to retain the silhouette of the 1964 original. However, the 964 is more than 85% different from the G-model that preceded it. For example, the 964 was equipped with features such as power steering, automatic climate control, and ABS. The suspension was also completely redesigned, and the famous Mezger engine was revised and bored out to 3.6 liters. It was also possible to order the car with an automatic transmission, the Tiptronic. The automatic transmission allows for relaxed cruising, and manual shifting is possible if desired. An airbag became available on the 964 after the facelift.

The example offered here was delivered new in Switzerland in 1990 and imported to the Netherlands in 1995. It has a full (dealer) service history. All maintenance work was carried out by an official Porsche dealer and Porsche specialist. Everything has been meticulously recorded in the maintenance log, and the NAP (National Car Pass) for the past 30 years is also running smoothly. The last service (including 12 spark plugs) took place 300km ago at Porsche Specialist de Bock in July 2024. The Michelin Pilot Sport tires are new and mounted on a set of beautiful Fuchs rims, so no expense was spared on those either. Simply a very neat example, where, according to the owner, the headstock was resprayed for cosmetic reasons. The previous owner owned the car for 22 years!

Our Opinion

The Porsche 964 has been getting the attention it deserves for several years now. RSs and Turbos now cost €300,000 or more. Even two-wheel-drive coupes are becoming unaffordable. There was a time when they were truly inexpensive and therefore often neglected. Fortunately, this example has always received proper care and is therefore in excellent condition. And let's be honest, what's better than driving with the top down with the roaring six-cylinder boxer engine behind you?

About the seller

This 964 convertible is being sold on behalf of the current owner, who bought the car with his father to enjoy driving it. However, due to relocation plans, the storage space will no longer be available, and the 964 can now go to a new owner.
