Mercedes Maybach S500
Wilhelm Maybach and Ferdinand Graf von Zeppelin started an engine factory for zeppelins in 1909. After World War I, the company was renamed Maybach-Motorenbau GmbH and turned to producing mainly very luxurious limousines such as the Maybach Zeppelin, with a twelve-cylinder engine. After World War II, the company continued as a repair shop for cars of various makes, after which Maybach was bought in 1960 by Daimler-Benz, which did not come out with a Maybach again until 1997. The Maybach 57 (with a length of 5.7 metres) and 62 (yes indeed a length of ....) were extreme in every way. Technically very high-end and equipped with every luxury you could think of. Unfortunately, sales volumes were very low and despite selling prices of around half a million euros (ex BPM), it was a loss-making business for Daimler. In 2012, the curtain fell and Daimler continued producing Maybach based on the Mercedes S-Class. Still no bargain and equipped with everything Mercedes has to offer.
We now offer such a special, originally Dutch-delivered, example on our site. Purchased by the first and only owner at ‘the MB dealer’ for special Mercedes cars, ASV in Veghel and also always serviced there until 350km ago. Equipped with really all the options as it should be with a Maybach, where the total sum came to over 240,000.- euro, of which just under 29,000.- euro in BPM. Besides all the usual options, these include the panoramic glass roof, the extensive Burmester sound system, a 360-degree camera system, active body control, screens and separate climate control for the rear passengers, electrically adjustable comfort seats in the rear, etc etc. Furthermore, the insulation is extremely well done so you are driven to the next appointment by your driver in total tranquillity. The owner took the car over privately after business use, but due to circumstances, the car is now with a business relation who has decided to offer the car to The Collectables
Our opinion
You will probably only come across cars from Rolls Royce that match the comfort offered here. The name Mercedes and Maybach couple great quality with that, which really only surpasses Mercedes benz's maxim ‘Das beste oder nichts’. If you are in the market for an over-the-top limo, this is your chance.
Equipment
This Mercedes Maybach is equipped with just about everything possible at the time. The new price in 2017 was 175,000.00 euros and options were added for over 65,000.00 euros. In addition to all the usual, the options include the panoramic glass roof, the very extensive Burmester sound system, a 360-degree camera system, active body control, screens (with headphones) and separate climate control for the rear passengers, electrically adjustable comfort seats in the rear.

This Maybach is in clean condition and has some signs of use for age and mileage, as shown in the photos. There is a crack in the front panoramic roof, a scratch on the bumper and the rims have some kerb damage. Otherwise, the car has been perfectly maintained by the first and only owner at the dealer and the last service was carried out 350km ago, so there is no need to worry about that.
