Something different from yet another 911... An Aston Martin V8 Vantage is the perfect alternative for anyone looking for a stylish GT with excellent driving characteristics and beautiful technology. Perhaps not quite as good on the track, but that's not what you buy it for. At the top of the list are: the experience, the road holding, the looks and, last but not least, a wonderful V8. Of course, the English built the Vantage V8 as a direct competitor to the 911, and in terms of performance, the Vantage can easily compete with Porsche's 996 and 997 series. Yet an Aston Martin is a lot more exclusive, luxurious and has a really beautiful body. The moment you take your seat, you imagine yourself as James Bond, who is inextricably linked to the brand, and a V8 just always sounds good. The V8 has only 40 hp less than the V12 in the DB7 Vantage and, thanks to its lower weight, its performance is excellent. Aston Martin offered the V8 with two types of transmission, of which the automatic (a robotised manual gearbox) took some getting used to, shall we say.
The “manual” model offered here was delivered new in Switzerland and was serviced exclusively by the Aston Martin dealer in Switzerland for its first 60,000 km. At the end of 2019, the Vantage was brought to the Netherlands by premium car specialist Koster en Hogeslag, and the current owner purchased his dream car. He had it perfectly maintained by Aston Martin dealer Kroymans in Hilversum and used the car as a hobby. The car has a beautiful colour combination of Onyx black metallic with Kestrel tan leather, which can also be found on the dashboard, centre console and door panels. A super neat example like this, with a full dealer history, a manual gearbox and attractive mileage, is almost impossible to find.
Our opinion
What a beautiful machine it is. Its stocky appearance combined with a manual V8 engine make it a real gem. It's almost unbelievable that you see so few cars like this. A car that is perfectly suitable for everyday use and that you can enjoy every minute of, even when you're stationary. A well-maintained example in the right specification like this one is rare and a great alternative to a 911, Mercedes Coupé or BMW 4 or 8 Series.
About the seller
The current owner and car enthusiast bought the car from premium car specialist Koster en Hogeslag after saying goodbye to his Mercedes SLK55 AMG. Also special, but not an Aston Martin. A V8, manual transmission and one of the most beautiful coupé lines of the past twenty years were the deciding factors. Timeless design, pure class. Five years later, he still enjoys it, every ride. Yet it is time for something new. These days, he gets a lot of pleasure from his Mazda MX-5 – wonderful open-top driving – and there are plans to purchase a camper van next year for a new adventure. The Vantage is therefore ready to move on to its next enthusiast. Saying goodbye is not easy, because this car will always stay with him, a real driver's car, with character.
Comments
This V8 Vantage has been dealer maintained from start to finish. As the owner was in the USA from 2022 to 2024, the Vantage spent two years in exclusive climate-controlled storage and was therefore taken out of storage in 2024 and, of course, first thoroughly checked by Kroymans. The car has two points of attention. The seat heating on the left side does not work and the left headlight washer is out of order. As far as we know, the car is completely damage-free except for some signs of wear, as can be seen in the photos. The rims are also free of scratches and damage. The rear tyres (from 2015, but fitted in 2020) are almost due for replacement due to tread and age. A few years ago, the Vantage was fitted with a glass coating!

The Vantage has been fully dealer maintained, both in Switzerland and in the Netherlands. All of this can be seen in the original maintenance booklet and the attached invoices.

Modifications
A Bluetooth receiver is connected to the standard iPod connection, allowing you to easily stream music wirelessly from your phone.
The V8 Vantage comes standard with an electronically controlled exhaust valve that opens at 3,500 rpm. A remote control has been added via a commonly used solution from a British specialist, which you connect to the exhaust valve fuse. This allows you to choose: open the valve permanently for a fuller sound, or return to the original factory setting where the valve only opens at higher revs. This does not involve any mechanical modification to the exhaust, and the original fuse can be easily replaced, restoring everything to its original function.
