The Clénet was a Singer avant-la-lettre, with cars that combined old-fashioned retro styling with modern technology. Designed and built in California, they were based on the most luxurious cars of the 1930s. Only 250 Clénet Series I, 187 Series II, 65 Series III, and 15 Series IV were built. The Series 1 is the most prized by the public and has been dubbed the "American Rolls-Royce" by some leading magazines. The Clenets were primarily sold to wealthy and well-known celebrities such as Farrah Fawcett, Rod Stewart, Sylvester Stallone, and even King Hussein of Jordan. The Clenet that will be auctioned next week is a 1978 Series 1, registered in the Netherlands in 1994. A rare example!
