About this Collectable
In the year 1993, the 600 SEC was the most expensive Mercedes to be found in the price list. In 2021, the price is a lot more reasonable and the car is also favorable in terms of taxes. With its dimensions and a mighty 6.0 liter V12, it is still an impressive car. The designation "600 SEC" is also very rare, because the car has been produced under this designation for less than a year.
At its introduction, the 600 SEC took the position of flagship within the Mercedes range with a starting price of more than € 175,000. The car was the first in the series of Mercedes V12 coupes. With the last generation Mercedes S 65 AMG Coupé, this series has now come to an end. Unfortunately...
The 600 SEC has the M120 block, which would later find its way to (yes) the Pagani Zonda. In this case, the V12 delivers 394 horsepower. The 600 SEC may be a big guy, but this car still accelerates from 0-100 km / h in 6.6 seconds. If you want, you can also make the 600 SEC (with some minor adjustments) sound like a Zonda. But of course that does not fit the character of this car.
The 600 SEC is primarily intended as the ultimate luxury coupé. This Collectable is therefore equipped with all the luxury that was available at the time. So everything is electric. By that we mean absolutely everything: for example, the doors can close automatically and even the interior mirror is electrically adjustable. And the seat belt is neatly presented to you.
We already mentioned it: a 600 SEC is rare. This is mainly due to the naming, but still. In the first year of production, Mercedes made a name change and the car was called S 600 Coupé. That eventually became CL 600 again. So this car had three different names, but the 600 SEC is the least common.
The car was originally delivered in Germany, but soon ended up with our southern neighbors. The Belgian owner eventually took the car to her holiday home in Spain. The Mercedes has stood still in the garage for a long time and is therefore neatly provided with a major overhaul and new tires prior to delivery.
