In lists of the most beautiful GTs of the past 20 years, you are guaranteed to find the Maserati GranTurismo. The V8 soundtrack has also been surpassed by very few cars. All this makes a normal GranTurismo a desirable car, but this is not a normal GranTurismo.
This Collectable is the ultimate version of the GranTurismo: the MC Stradale. This car is one of the 497 two-seater MC Stradale's and was specially imported from Dubai by the current owner because of the special composition with the red interior.
Now it is one of the fourteen MC Stradale's currently on Dutch registration. Where the standard model is mainly a GT - the name suggests something like that - the MC Stradale is sportier in all areas. For example, carbon-ceramic brake discs and carbon bucket seats from the Ferrari Enzo have been fitted to save weight and the chassis is 8% stiffer. The various changes make the car 110 kg lighter, while the power increases by 10 hp compared to the GranTurismo S. The latter is the result of an F1 technology-inspired coating that reduces the internal resistance of the engine. Not only the V8 was built by Ferrari, the gearbox also has a link with Ferrari. The MC Race Shift gearbox shares components with the gearbox of the acclaimed Ferrari 599 GTO. In Race mode, the robotic manual gearbox can thus shift in 60 milliseconds. Where the GranTurismo was always a four-seater, the MC Stradale is a two-seater. That is, the MC Stradale's from before 2013. After that, the car became a four-seater again.
This Collectable from 2011 is one of the two-seaters, of which only 497 were produced. Only 225 of these were delivered in Europe. The adjustments are also accompanied by aerodynamic upgrades, without ruining the beautiful lines. The MC Stradale can be recognized by the modified front bumper, two exhaust pipes that are placed more to the center and the carbon fiber spoiler. All this not only provides better downforce and cooling, but also a more aggressive look. Due to the modifications, the car is 48 mm longer and 10 mm lower than a regular GranTurismo.
