The Ford Focus was introduced at the end of 1998 as the successor to the legendary Ford Escort. It was a modern car that stood out for its excellent handling. In 2002, the first Focus ST was launched as the ST170, with 173 hp. The latest version of the Focus ST uses a modern and proven 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine previously used in the Focus RS and the Ford Mustang. With 280 hp ex-factory, this is the most powerful Focus ST ever. Like the first-generation Focus ST, the latest generation is known for its uncompromising driving pleasure. Ford has since ceased production, and the last ST (a red wagon) rolled off the production line at the end of September this year.

The last officially delivered ST in the Netherlands is equipped with all the goodies you could want in an ST and is being auctioned by The Collectables and Ford Netherlands. The ST is equipped with the Track Pack, which can be ordered for less than €4,000. It's unbelievable that so many STs are still offered without this new addition. KW Automotive supplied a custom-made, fully customizable suspension, allowing you to comfortably drive to the track and, with just a few clicks, adjust the dampers for the real thing! Even the ride height can be individually adjusted. The combination with high-gloss black, forged, 19-inch wheels with oversized Brembo brakes and an electronically controlled limited-slip differential completes the package. The standard P-Zero Corsa tires ensure optimal grip. The roof, upper grille in the front bumper, and mirror caps of the Focus ST with Track Pack, as well as several other accents, are finished in Agate Black. The performance of the 280 hp (and 420 Nm) engine is further enhanced by a flat-shift function, which keeps the throttle open when disengaging the clutch during upshifts. Several driving modes are pre-programmed, allowing you to individually adjust the throttle response, power steering, and ESP. "Track mode" offers the most flexible setting and makes virtually no intervention on the track. Ford Netherlands has decided to auction this unique, very last, original Dutch Focus ST, owned by the original owner, through The Collectables, with the entire proceeds going to charity!

Our Opinion

What a shame that Ford is discontinuing production of a top-notch driver's car. The Focus was and remains one of the best-handling front-wheel-drive cars, and with the Track Pack installed, it truly shines. A fully-fledged family car that you can use on weekends to tease BMWs and Porsches on the track without having to make all sorts of expensive modifications. Ford is now selling its "own" and very last example and is looking for a true enthusiast.
