Renault Alpine A310 V6
An Alpine A310 is already a special car in its own right. However, when dealing with one of the final 400+ units produced in the last series—specifically the last A310 originally delivered in the Netherlands, and very likely one of only two worldwide finished in this unique "commande spéciale" Cognac color—one can truly speak of an exceptionally unique automobile. As far as is known, the only other A310 in this color is owned by Alpine itself and serves as a show car. The original owner traded in her Alpine A310 (which had sustained damage) for an Alpine V6 GT but was unhappy with the replacement. She wanted her old car back (repaired), but it had already been sold. After an extensive search, the dealer located one of the very last Alpines with a Swiss chassis number; the car was brought to the Netherlands via Dieppe and registered here as a new vehicle. The A310 is now in the hands of its third owner, who has cared for it meticulously for the past ten years. In its 40-year history, this car has never been advertised for sale. In the 1990s, it was fitted with a galvanized chassis—a process documented in a photographic record. Last year, following an act of vandalism, the car underwent a highly professional respray in this unique yet authentic Alpine color (with every detail finished in the correct hue). The bill came to no less than €15,000. Naturally, the car has been excellently maintained; the paintwork is in superb condition, and the interior remains unrestored and as original as possible. Mechanically, the car features several useful upgrades—such as improved brakes, cooling, clutch, and exhaust—without compromising its originality. Furthermore, the Alpine passed its latest MOT inspection on December 1st; it also underwent a service and a full inspection, ensuring it is ready for worry-free driving. The documentation is extensive: countless invoices (with a complete record for the last 10 years), a valuation report stating a value of €50,000, photos of the chassis restoration, articles from various magazines featuring the car, and more. Regrettably, the car is being offered for sale due to health reasons; otherwise, it certainly wouldn't be on the market.
Our opinion
If you are looking for a truly outstanding and unique Alpine A310, this is a rare opportunity. It is a beautiful, unspoiled A310 in a color that really needs to be seen in person to be appreciated. Our photographer did his best, but the car looks absolutely stunning. It hasn't been over-restored; it is simply in excellent, correct condition, featuring a tidy interior with no damage or non-functional components. We have never seen an Alpine in this condition before!
About the seller
The seller is a true sports car enthusiast. He traded in his 911 for this Alpine and never looked back. Unfortunately, he now has to part with the Alpine due to health reasons. Several articles featuring him and the Alpine have appeared in 'youngtimer' magazines, and his enthusiasm is palpable. Once the owner starts talking about it, there is really only one thing left to do: buy the car!
