About this Collectable

A 10-year-old BMW M5 with just 110,000 km that looks as if it has barely been driven. You can hardly believe it when you see the mileage. Not a scratch on the door sills or door panels, hardly any stone chips visible, a minimal scratch near the trunk lid, upholstery like new, engine bay spotless; truly an incredibly well-maintained car. It looks as if the owner got into the car wearing only socks and then racked up the kilometers on the dyno. It all started with the fastest sedan available. The BMW E28 M5 began with a hefty 286 hp engine from the M1, some subtle body modifications, and a modified suspension. This was followed by the E34, which eventually featured a 3.8-liter engine with 340 hp that was even available as a Touring. The third generation, of course, took it a step further with a massive 5-liter V8 producing 400 hp. Eventually, the über M5 arrived with a 5-liter V10 and SMG transmission in the E60 series. With the F10, the displacement and cylinders were reduced slightly, but with significantly more power and torque. Partly driven by emission requirements, the 4.4-liter V8 was fitted with two turbochargers, resulting in an engine producing 560 hp and 680 Nm of torque.

Finally, the 5th generation F90 appeared on the scene in 2017, which was succeeded by the current Hybrid version.

The M5 we are offering is the F10 built up to and including 2017 and equipped with the Competition Package, good for 575 hp. In addition to more power, the package includes a stiffer setup for the (10 mm shorter) springs and shock absorbers, a thicker anti-roll bar, changes to the front axle, and a modified M differential. Visually, the M5 was fitted with Dark Chrome tailpipes and special 20” wheels (M601 styling).

Delivered in Individual Azuritschwarz Metallic with an extensive black Merino leather interior, it is a beautiful version, especially in combination with the Shadow-Line package. Additionally, it features a B&O High-end Sound system, Head-Up Display, 4-zone Climate Control, Alcantara headlining, and soft-close doors.

Purchased (and delivered by BMW dealer Bilia Emond) in Luxembourg from the first owner, who took just as good care of it as the second and current owners. Naturally, it is fully dealer-maintained, has original paint, is full of options, and is in mint condition. Probably the most beautiful M5 F10 there is.

Our opinion

We don't think an M5 in this condition is to be found, and certainly not with this mileage. We have never seen such a well-cared-for car. It wasn't just quickly polished up and brought to this state with a few products, but simply always taken very good care of. Exterior, interior, and even the underbody are in mint condition. The BMW dealer stated that they had never seen anything like it, not even on cars with a fraction of the mileage. Perfectly maintained and ready for a new enthusiast who will hopefully treat it just as well. The car deserves it!

About the seller

The seller is a Honda and BMW enthusiast, has a small collection of cars, and bought this M5 about 2 years ago at The Collectables. He bought it sight unseen and couldn't believe his eyes that the car was in absolute mint condition in real life as well. He has taken just as good care of it as the 2 previous owners and has, of course, had the proper maintenance performed at the BMW dealer. Due to the arrival of a camper van, this unique M5 is going to a new enthusiast who will hopefully take just as good care of it.

Remarks

The previous owner purchased the car from the first owner with 29,000 km. Apart from very light signs of use such as minimal stone chips and, of course, some tire wear, the car is, as previously stated, as good as new, with only a small repaired chip in the windshield and a minimal touch-up on the rear bumper.
