Porsche 993 Carrera 4S
The Porsche 911, type 993, needs no further introduction. After all, it is the ultimate final version of the air-cooled Porsches. One of the most evocative versions is the Carrera 4S, built from 1995 to 1998 and a cross between the Carrera and the Turbo, with the main distinguishing feature being the large, fixed rear spoiler of the Turbo. Apart from the large rear spoiler, however, the two models are identical in many respects. This Carrera 4S features the factory-fitted front bumper of the Turbo S and, like the Turbo, has the 6 cm wider Turbo chassis, resulting in wider rear fenders. Additionally, the Carrera 4S is equipped as standard with the 18-inch wheels and red brake calipers of the Turbo, and the Carrera 4S also features striking side skirts. Technically, the Carrera 4S is essentially the same as the Carrera with the 286 hp naturally aspirated engine. In total, only 6,948 examples of the Carrera 4S were produced, and it was delivered exclusively with a manual gearbox.
Now in our auction is a very fine and well-documented example featuring a rare "factory-fitted" Turbo S Aero package and extensive recent maintenance at Porsche Gelderland. The car went from the USA to a Belgian collector in 2011 who did not drive it further. In 2021, the 4S came from Belgium to the Netherlands. The current owner subsequently put the finishing touches on it by having the car extensively overhauled by Porsche Classic Center Gelderland. Brakes, shock absorbers, air conditioning, etc.—everything that was needed was fixed. Additionally, the 4S underwent an extensive service costing nearly €4,000 just under three months ago. This Carrera 4S is equipped with rare X-options such as the Aerokit front spoiler and Aerokit rear spoiler, which are integrated into the tailgate, giving you the looks of the Turbo S, but without the cost…. The 4S is accident-free, features a glass coating, and is in excellent condition!
Our opinion
Alongside the Turbo and the RS, the 4S is arguably the most captivating 993 with its beefy rear end, Turbo suspension, and beautiful 18-inch wheels. Equipped with four-wheel drive, it makes the 993 a perfect all-rounder with a superb appearance. If you are looking for a unique and accident-free example with a complete history, then this 993, as the last air-cooled 911, is a great offer.
About the seller
The current owner has been driving Porsches since 1985 and bought the car from a collector within a car club. He had everything necessary done to it at Porsche Gelderland, but has noticed by now that he hardly drives it. He has therefore decided to sell the 993 4S through The Collectables.

Remarks
This 993 4S is well-documented and recently underwent maintenance at Porsche Classic Center Gelderland. The front bumper has been repainted due to stone chips. The right side shows a slightly thicker paint layer as a result of cosmetic repairs. The car is in top condition. As far as is known and visible, there is no history of damage.
