The Vantage N400 was released thanks to the racing successes the Vantage had on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, among others. N400 stood for the horsepower, and the torque also increased to 420 Nm. Furthermore, the N400 was equipped as standard with a new Sport Package for improved driving dynamics. The Sport Package consisted of lightweight aluminum wheels, stiffer springs and dampers, and a new rear stabilizer bar (only for the Coupé). The Vantage N400 also featured a number of subtle exterior changes. The interior features perforated black leather seats, an aluminum-finished dashboard, the Nordschleife logo on the center armrest, and a uniquely numbered sill plate. This Vantage N400 was only available in three new exterior colors. This N400 is finished in Bergwerk Black (named after the famous section of Bergwerk on the Nordschleife) with a Sportshift transmission. Only 480 examples (240 coupes, 240 roadsters) were to be produced, and there was a simple reason for that. The N400 could complete a lap of the Nordschleife in exactly 8 minutes, which is exactly 480 seconds. It is now suspected that far fewer cars were actually produced, making the N400 highly sought after. Coming to our auction this coming week is one of those rare examples with some mileage!
