The Honda S2000 is essentially the modern version of the Honda S800, featuring a classic longitudinally mounted high-revving engine and rear-wheel drive. This modern variant is powered by an extremely high-revving, naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine with a power output of 177 kW (241 hp) and a displacement of just 1997 cc, which won the International Engine of the Year Award five years in a row. The engine is extremely compact, as its small dimensions improved its suitability for high revs. Additionally, they were assembled by hand and fitted with countless hand-polished and tuned parts, such as the intake manifolds. The S2000 achieves its high specific power through high engine speeds, with the rev limiter only kicking in well above 9,000 rpm. Although the S2000 was in production for over 12 years, only 4,550 units were built. Unfortunately, many S2000s perished on the track or in a ditch due to inexperienced drivers. Coming to our auction this coming week is a unique example from the sought-after first series, with just 8,000 km on the odometer and in pristine condition from top to bottom.
