Inspired by the classic 1960s Alpine A110, the A110 offers a driving experience in its purest form. The aim was to keep the all-aluminium car under 1000kg. It fell just short of that, but compared to today's sports cars, which easily weigh 1,600kg or more, it is obviously a great achievement. The A110 takes its style from the iconic Berlinette and complements it with modern design features that make the car even more aerodynamic. Alpine deliberately chose a relatively soft setup to give the car enough comfort and playful handling. The 1.8 Turbo engine located in the centre ensures excellent performance, low fuel consumption and a sporty sound. Shifting is done by a dual-clutch gearbox and changes to the next gear at lightning speed. The whole concept makes for a great driving experience thanks in part to the Sabelt bucket seats specially designed for the Alpine.
The Alpine A110 offered by us was delivered by the Dutch dealer on 29 November 2022, so it is only a good 2 years old. At the time, the car cost over 80,000,- euros including the options supplied. It was driven around 10,000km annually. Finished in the only correct colour, Alpine blue, with the comfortable leather bucket seats a beautiful appearance. The silver 18-inch alloy wheels finish it off. The Brembo calipers are painted in the same colour and provide excellent deceleration that is extremely short partly because of its low weight.
Our opinion
When the Alpine came out in 2018, expectations were high and in the end no one was disappointed. What a fun car to look at but also to drive. No supercar performance but lots of usable power which makes it a hugely playful car. The handling is perfect and adventurous when you ask for it. Plenty of storage space for a long weekend away and, given current asking and trade-in prices, a very good value investment.
