About this Collectable
Porsche 911 (996) Turbo manual
The last air-cooled Porsche Turbo was built in the 993 series, and everyone feared that with the arrival of the ‘kettles’ all experience would disappear. Whereas the ‘normal’ 996 already managed to convince with a fantastically revving engine, the Turbo took it up a notch or two during the introduction of the 996 Turbo (996TT). Again, as with the 993 Turbo, the car was fitted with 2 turbos, a four-wheel drive system and the base block (the famous Mezger engine) was also carried over from the 993/964. The fact that it was now also water-cooled paved the way for many more modifications and reduced emissions. Naturally, power also increased and so, with 420hp and 560NM, the 996 Turbo was suddenly also a better and faster car than the 993 Turbo. In addition, the Turbo was also available with Automatic, but the real die-hards naturally opt for the manual gearbox.
The example we are offering is not a vague Japanese or Dubai import, but a new in Germany delivered (Matching) 996TT with manual gearbox, which has been perfectly maintained by the Porsche dealer. Fully dealer maintained apart from 1 stamp, which is why the current owner also bought the car with peace of mind this 996 Turbo from the Porsche dealer in Leusden. The car's features include the beautiful Raff leather, a Bose sound package and a sunroof. However, the nicest option is option code 480, Manual transmission. This really makes the car a sports car as it should be. The automatic in itself is fine, but takes a lot of experience (and speed) out of the car. Apart from some minor signs of use, the car looks fantastic for its age and mileage.
Our opinion
The 996 (Turbo) has been on the rise again for a while now. Cheap ones are often questionable cars from the Far East, Middle East, USA or have damage or mileage history. We believe that this (Matching Numbers) 996 with full dealer history in this configuration is an excellent investment, which also provides a lot of driving pleasure. Manual transmission, full service history, German delivered and dealer maintained make it a covetable total package.
