About this Collectable
We have said it before: the 964 combines the best of both worlds. When it was introduced in 1989, the iconic lines of the original 911 remained largely intact, but 85% of the car was new. Modern innovations such as ABS and power steering ensure that it is a classic that, by classic standards, is simple and easy to drive. The bumpers were given a more modern styling and, for high-speed handling, the car was fitted with a retractable spoiler, something that Porsche still uses today. Where the classic 911 series ended with the 3.2, Porsche continued with the 964 with a newly designed air-cooled 3.6-litre engine that still makes the real air-cooled boxer engine sound. This engine delivers 250 hp, which means that even by today's standards, this 964 still gets off to an excellent start. The chassis has also been significantly modernised, with coil springs instead of torsion bars and MacPherson suspension at the front. This car is a true driver's car. The specification appeals to the (sporty) imagination, read on:
Coupé, rear-wheel drive, manual transmission, no sunroof, the beautiful colour Midnight Blue Metallic and, as the icing on the cake, the code M220, or the optional limited-slip differential. Almost an RS specification, but with the comfort of working (!) air conditioning, normal seats, power steering and an airbag! Built in September 1992 and first registered in July 1993. As far as we can ascertain, it was first used as a company car at Porsche dealer Verellen in Belgium and was also serviced by Belgian Porsche dealers until 2002. In 2004, the 964 came to the Netherlands with an estimated 80,000 km on the clock. A car that has been used for what it was made for. Two Porsche specialists have worked extensively on it in recent years. In addition to normal maintenance, various issues have been addressed, such as the exhaust, air conditioning, chassis, etc. A model that has not been modified and is in neat original condition.
Our opinion
After the RS and Turbo versions, this is pretty much the most sought-after version among the Porsche 964 models, a manual Coupé with rear-wheel drive and limited-slip differential. Very rare in this specification. The car has some signs of wear, which is not surprising given its age and mileage. We have seen plenty of examples with much lower mileage that look (much) worse. Incidentally, around 9,000 km per year is, of course, not very much. Fortunately, this car has not been sacrificed to some backdate project, but has simply been kept original.

Comments
This is a 32-year-old car with a respectable mileage, which has been used normally. Just above the bumper on the right rear wing there is a small rust spot that needs to be addressed and in some places the paint has some blistering. There is a typo in the NAP, but otherwise it has a logical structure in combination with the maintenance booklet. Overall, this 964 looks very neat, the interior shows signs of use but is not worn, and everything (yes, even the air conditioning) works as it should. No smoke or excessive oil leakage, just a healthy engine that runs smoothly without any noise. A neat car for its age and mileage.
Recent maintenance history
This 964 still has the original service booklet in the glove compartment. In addition, there are many recent invoices from Porsche specialist 611 and Vlasblom.
