This Dutch Porsche 911 (996.2) GT3 is in very good condition and is an original and damage-free copy of the track-oriented 996 model. In black, which makes it more suitable for everyday use in our taste. Under the hood, the 3.6l derived from the famous Mezger racing block with 381 hp. The mileage is 130,500 km, the complete history is available, which shows that maintenance has never been saved.
The car has therefore always gone through the MOT with zero (!) rejection points in 17 years. Only in May 2020 has there been a comment about flashing lights that the owner had replaced himself. The last owner owned the car for 8 years. The GT3 got a somewhat quieter life for this enthusiast and after an average of 4,000 kilometers per year was exchanged for a 997 GT3 at Porsche specialist Wolbert Sportscars.
The Porsche madness has subsided somewhat at the moment, making these GT3s affordable again for a slightly wider audience. This GT3 was first registered in May 2003 by Porsche Leusden. This is a second generation 996 GT3, easily recognizable by the redesigned headlights and horizontal rear spoiler (the first generation had a "curl"). Six-piston calipers were fitted to the front axle and power increased to 381 hp. In total, 2,313 of these 996.2 GT3s have been built. But it is mainly the steering, the handling and the sound that distinguishes this GT3 from other 911s. Already after 500 meters you feel that this is something special due to the low seating in the (optional) Recaros and the raw sound of the indestructible racing block.
Richard Meaden of EVO Magazine happened to publish this article about it this week. Obviously, this GT3 has some typical traces of road use with some stone chips on the front and lower parts of the wheel arches, as well as some minor wear just below the Porsche logo on the front. The car was completely repainted "for good looks" a few years ago and still shines so hard that taking pictures was difficult.
This Porsche is damage-free and no panels have been damaged or replaced. The interior of this GT3 has the right mix between racing and comfort. The (optional) air conditioning and radio, but also the (again optional) Porsche roll cage and six-point seat belt for the driver. So you just drive to Northern Italy, change your seat belts and take all the mountain passes there for 3 days. Only the sills show light wear from getting in and out, otherwise the interior is in very good condition.
