About this Collectable
Jaguar 340 (MK2) RHD manual transmission
You can't get more English than this. Wood, leather, a beautiful (and fast) inline six and a classic body to lick your fingers at. The Mark II or Mk II is a four-door sports limousine, released by Jaguar in 1959 as the successor to the Mark I, with 2.4 and 3.4 litre engines and disc brakes on all four wheels as standard. The 3.4 produced 210 hp and via a four-speed gearbox (optional overdrive or three-speed automatic) the rear wheels were driven. Top speed was a whopping 195 km/h. The MK2 was built until 1967 and from the 1968 model year they were designated Jaguar 240 and 340.
The 340 offered here, still popularly called MK2, is a manual transmission version which not only makes it fairly unique, but in particular brings the car's character to life. With over 200hp at the rear wheels and weighing 1500kg, it is still a very smooth car! The last and technically well-versed owner bought the car in 2001 and took it completely apart to bring it back to top condition. 4 folders of photo material substantiate the restoration of the body, all suspension components, interior and driveline. The Jaguar still looks very good, indicating that it was done very carefully at the time. The last appraisal report from 2016 indicates that the Jaguar is in very good condition and rewarded that with an appraisal value of a whopping €65,000.00. Since then, the Jaguar has not driven 500 miles due to the owner's age.
Our opinion
If you were looking for a luxurious and fast sedan in the 1960s, the Jaguar Mk II with an output of 210 hp was the right choice. Not for nothing did the English police drive Jaguars in those days as did the thieves' guild. Not to mention, good old Inspector Morse drove a beautiful Mk II in the series. If you are looking for a neatly restored true English classic car that you can also cruise at speed with the whole family, you cannot beat this Jaguar 340. If you are looking for a project to restore yourself, don't forget that it will be much more expensive. This is a right-hand drive which certainly has its advantages when parking along the kerb. Just remember to reverse through the McDrive!

Notes
This Jaguar is in very good usable condition. The last owner tackled the car from head to toe and replaced the original uni red colour with a period-correct beige metallic paint. The restoration was done in house, but very well documented with 4 photo books! The car has been stationary for a long time but is good to drive, we recommend some maintenance and tuning work before taking it into use.
Recent maintenance history
The Jaguar has been maintained throughout by the last owner and received regular servicing and maintenance. In recent years, the car has hardly been driven as the owner was elderly.
