BMW M6 V10 Cabriolet (E64)
In 1985, BMW spooned the 24-valve engine from the BMW M1 into the 6-series. Officially, the car was called M635 CSi, but in the corridors it was always about the M6. The 6-series was built until 1989 and we had to wait no less than 14 years until BMW launched a new 6-series. Chris Bangle designed the bold new coupé of which a convertible version was also produced, and in 2005 (2006 for the convertible) the long-awaited M6 also became available.
A monster with a Formula 1-inspired V10 with over 500hp that also came in the M5. Gearshifts were done with the now further developed SMG, which combined with the engine provided blood-curdling performance and a heavenly sound. The engine even won the prestigious title of International Engine of the Year, Best performance Engine and Best New Engine in 2005. The S85 produced 507hp and a whopping 520NM of torque. Unlimited, the engine could take the M6 to speeds well above 300kmh.
Unlike the "old" 6-series, the E63 was also available as a convertible, the E64. Just apart from the "open driving", this did even more justice to the sound of the V10.
In order not to surprise everyone immediately with the M6's enormous power, the car delivers 400hp in the base. Only after pressing the appropriate power or programmable M button, all the horses are released. Of course, BMW also made the necessary adjustments to the suspension and braking system. In addition, the car has the necessary body modifications, 19-inch rims and four exhausts.
The M6 offered here by us is a special example. At the request of the first owner, BMW painted the car matt black after delivery. This is therefore not a (cheap) wrap but a fully painted car. In combination with the cappuccino-coloured interior, it is a beautiful car. The M6 was delivered in 2007 in the always sunny Monaco to the first owner. The current 2nd owner bought the car in 2011 and registered it in the Netherlands. The car was neatly maintained at the BMW dealer and BMW specialist CVS in Oudenbosch. The car's low mileage is partly due to the dreary weather in our little country. In fact, the car never sees rain!
Our view
The days of 10-cylinders are sadly over. Only Lamborghini (and Audi, that is) still supply a V10 and after that it seems to be definitively passé. The chance to get your hands on a real V10 with low mileage and wrapped in a nice convertible jacket, plus the unique colour combination. So if you are in the market for a Collectable with V10, make your move.
About the seller
The 2nd owner immediately fell for the colour combination. The sound, low mileage and looks of the car were the deciding factors. After 13 years of careful care, he auctioned the car to the next owner who unfortunately, due to his height (>2m), actually just did not fit in the car. He sold the car to the current owner who found out that a closed coupé is more his thing after all. So therefore now for sale again in our auction.

Remarks
The car is in very good condition. There is a light scratch on the convertible top and in the past, by BMW dealer Renova, the two right side panels were painted because of a light (vandalism) scratch. The Pilot Sport 4S tyres are as good as new and the interior is in top condition. The mileage in the photos are from the earlier auction so differ slightly.
