In the 1970s, BMW launched the successful 5 Series. The 7th generation of the BMW 5 Series went into production in 2017 and, alongside countless versions, introduced a comfortable version of the BMW M5, the M550i. Equipped with X-drive to get the power of 530 hp and 750 Nm (from the N63B engine) onto the road, and naturally, a modified braking system to bring the car to a stop. This makes the M550i the ultimate daily driver for covering long distances (very) quickly.

The M550i (G30 series) offered here is an original Dutch-delivered example, with truly every option and, naturally, in neat condition and original paint! The car was first driven by the importer as a company car and then passed to the last owner (who put it on his own company's books for the final year). Almost a first-owner car, therefore. All sporty options are present, such as the special Sport Brake System, the M Limited Slip Differential, the Sport Gearbox, Adaptive M Suspension, 20-inch Double-Spoke M668 wheels, etc., etc. In terms of comfort, the driver lacks nothing either, with ventilated Nappa leather Comfort Seats, Heated Steering Wheel, BMW Live Cockpit Professional, Laser Lights, Harman Kardon Surround System, Park Assist Plus, etc., etc. Naturally, the M550i is equipped with a sports package featuring a subtle spoiler on the trunk lid. The car makes a very well-maintained impression with minimal signs of wear. It is striking that the car still has its original rear tires from 2019, from which we can conclude that no drifting orgies have taken place!

Our opinion

A fantastic “Autobahn burner”, this M550i. A true all-rounder, with which you can effortlessly cover very long distances safely and quickly. Slightly less fast than an M5, but more comfortable and, thanks to 4-wheel drive, the right choice in the Alps as well. Moreover, thanks to all the sporty options, it is a super-fine driver's car! Originally delivered in the Netherlands, more or less the first owner (first registration by the importer), so not a dubious import with a shady past.

Remarks

The M550i is in very good condition and, as far as we can measure, has its original paintwork. Some minor damage on the rims shows that the car has actually been used. The car is still fitted with the original rear tires, which still have about 4mm of tread. Maintenance has been performed at the dealer according to the service book.
