About this Collectable
So much has been written about the E46 M3 that there is little more we can add. The award-winning six-in-line with its metallic howl at over 8,000 rpm produces 343 hp. A perfect combination with a six-speed manual transmission. This example is finished in the beautiful and iconic colour 'Phoenix Gelb'.
The E46 M3 is rapidly on it's way to becoming a classic. A timeless car in terms of design, both exterior and interior. The enthusiast will immediately recognise this car as an M3. One look at the small air intakes on the front fenders is enough.
At the rear, the four exhaust pipes tell there's a special six-in-line can be found under the bonnet. The award-winning S54 six-in-line of this M3 (voted 'Engine of the Year' multiple times) is linked to a manual gearbox. A wonderful combination, perfectly fitting for this model.
The E46 M3 is generally regarded as one of the best driving generations of the M3. At the same time it is one of the most understated generations in terms of looks. However, this example is still an eye-catcher, thanks to its Phoenix Yellow finish. An iconic and also a rare colour. In addition, this M3 is fitted with original CSL rims.
The car was originally delivered in Germany, resided a while in Italy and was imported to The Netherlands in 2013 by the current owner. He has driven 62.000 km in the past 9 years, bringing the total to 125.800 km.
Our opinion
This is a BMW as tradition would dictate: six-in-line, rear-wheel drive, manual transmission. The owner has made some modifications that, to our taste, do nothing to discredit the car. The just make the M3 just that little bit sharper and more usable on a daily basis. This E46 M3 is a actually a sensible daily driver, as they don't depreciate anymore.
But let's be honest, the colour is also a huge part of the appeal. A car that makes you look at it every time you park it, that's what we all want, don't we?

About the seller
The owner's first car was a Hyundai Excel (you have to start somewhere), but he soon switched to a real enthusiast car: a Honda S2000. From that moment on, his love for cars only increased. After a BMW E92 M3, which turned out not to be entirely suitable for commuting, he decided to buy this E46 M3, next to a second 'daily driver'. As of 2022, the E46 M3 has been in the family for almost a decade. Which has grown a bit, literally. So the owner is now starting to look for something else, a four door enthusiasts car. But first he will find a new owner for the E46 M3.
