The E24 is the first 6-series from BMW that succeeded the BMW E9 coupé (CS, CSi and CSL) in 1976. Initially only the 630CS and 633CSi were available. In 1978 a more powerful variant came onto the market, the 635CSi. In 1982 the E24 received a facelift and many parts were replaced by parts from the new E28 (5 series). The 6-series was initially produced at Karmann, but the quality was poor, so BMW decided to simply produce the 6-series in-house at the factory in Dingolfing. The 6-series is now a sought-after classic and beautiful examples are becoming rare. Next week we will have a beautiful, European delivered example with manual gearbox in our auction!
