About this Collectable

The Aston Martin DB9 5.9 V12 was built from early 2004 to mid-2016 and remained exclusive due to its low production run of around 1,200 units per year. The abbreviation DB stands for David Brown, Aston Martin's longtime owner, the 9 for the model, and 5.9 V12, of course, for the magnificent engine located at the front of the DB9 (but as far back as possible for perfect weight distribution). Although production ceased only nine years ago, the Aston Martin DB9 is already considered a (future) classic. The DB9 was built on a completely new platform, marking the departure from the ageing DB7 platform. Furthermore, the somewhat fickle robotized gearbox from the Vanquish was replaced by a modern 6-speed automatic. The DB9 was built in the new and modern Gaydon factory instead of Newport-Pagnell. Prices for V12 models are rising, partly due to fears that the V12 will disappear forever from (almost) all brands.

How special it is that we can offer a virtually unused example here, with 970km still needing to be broken in! The car began its life with a collector in Kuwait. While many cars from the Middle East have a reputation for being from a sandbox, cars from Kuwait are almost always bought for "having." So, they're bought and added to a collection of often dozens, or sometimes hundreds, of cars. This DB9, with its almost pristine mileage, is no exception. The DB9 now has a Dutch registration and has undergone the necessary maintenance at Aston Martin dealer Kroymans to address all its stagnation issues. The car is in top condition, and only the tires, with a 2007 DOT code, reveal that this is a car over 18 years old. A unique opportunity to acquire one of the finest modern 12-cylinder Astons!

Our Opinion

As far as we're concerned, driving a real V12 is a guilty pleasure. Wrapped in a fantastic body that's simply undeniably beautiful. We honestly don't know anyone who considers it a mediocre or ugly car. Fast, stylish, and still affordable. Moreover, the low production run guarantees exclusivity. The term "factory new" is sometimes used by an unnamed detailing company, but if you truly want to buy a brand-new car, this is the perfect candidate!

About the Seller

The current owner has a nice collection of classics and modern classics. Low mileage and originality are important to him. Although he has hardly driven it, the car has been meticulously tuned by Kroymans and has a Dutch registration. Because there will be some rotation in the collection, this DB9 is being sold through The Collectables.

The interior, exterior, engine compartment, and underbody are in mint condition. The DB9 underwent extensive maintenance at Kroymans two years ago to address storage issues.
