Alpina B3 BiTurbo Touring (F31) No. 007

410 hp, 600 Nm and a top speed 302 km/h. Those are serious numbers that belong to a serious sports car. While the BiTurbo certainly is that, it is an extremely pleasant touring car that you can get ahead of anything.

In 1962, BMW released the BMW 1500. Just one year later, the much more powerful 1800 version came out. Burkard Bovensiepen came up with a solution for the disappointed buyers who had just bought the lighter 1500 version. A real ''tuning kit'' consisting of a double carburetor as a replacement for the single.
The next series from BMW was the BMW 02 series. Leading the way was the 2002ti. This already had an incredible 100 hp two-liter engine. The Ti had 120 and the later Tii even 130. And yet Alpina managed to get even more out of it.

Thanks in part to lighter pistons and a different camshaft, Alpina managed to bring the 2002ti to a whopping 165 hp. At the Vallelunga Circuit, the Alpina was one second faster than the Lamborghini Miura, and even 5 seconds faster than the Porsche 911S.
Partly because of this victory, Alpina began to gain a better and better name, and its popularity increased year after year.
Over the years, Alpina focused on fine-tuning / perfecting BMW models.

In fact, so many modifications were made that Alpina was given manufacturer status. BMW supplies the bodies and basic engineering and Alpina turns them into a specific and unique car.
Because of this, Alpinas have two chassis numbers. The original BMW number which is then crossed out by Alpina, then Alpina's own chassis number.

We fast forward to the year 2013. That's when this unique Alpina rolled off the assembly line.
With only 138 B3 BiTurbo Touring models, it is already an extremely rare appearance.
It is also remarkable that 374 units were produced of the limousine version, more than 2.5 times as many.

And yet specifically this Alpina is even more special because of two things. 1: where most B3s are all-wheel drive, this is an even rarer and more sought-after rear-wheel drive version. And 2: this is number 007. Even James Bond is jealous of that....

Our Opinion

Alpina knows how to produce a car that never ceases to amaze. Both in design and in performance and handling. They are not too flashy or garish, yet you can see that this is anything but a normal car. M3 performance with more comfort and understated looks. This time without the familiar Alpina striping. BMW has followed suit with the recently released Touring (which is currently hard to come by).

The brilliant color (Imperial blue metallic) tends toward black when it shimmers, and brilliant blue when the BiTurbo is in the sunlight. You get two colors, so to speak, for the price of one.
A well-maintained and in particularly clean condition

About the seller

In 2020, this Alpina B3 BiTurbo Touring was imported from Germany and registered in the Netherlands. Korneel, the current owner, purchased the Alpina from Hofmeister Automotive at the time. He, like the previous two owners, took good care of it by providing timely maintenance and not skimping on costs.

Still, after 3 years of many fun and fine miles, it is time to grant someone else this happiness on wheels.
