Many actually can't believe it when they take the Taycan out for a test drive. It is the first, and perhaps the only, electric car where emotions are released. Sporty handling, direct steering and four-wheel drive ensure that you can get this Porsche into and out of corners the way you want.
Thanks to the air suspension, the level of the Taycan can be adjusted in 5 heights. This allows you to perfectly choose whether the Porsche should be comfortable, sporty or a healthy mix of these.
Charging can be done in two ways. AC charging and DC charging. AC charging amounts to alternate charging. This is mainly at home, on business or in town for example. Also nice, the AC charging connector is on both the left and right side. This means you can always easily connect the cable on either side.
The 22 kWh on-board charger option allows the Taycan to charge from 0 to 100% in about 4 hours.
The other way of charging is DC, this amounts to DC voltage and is mainly known as ''fast charging''. The DC charger is on the right side only. At a charging station which uses an 800-volt network, the Porsche can charge up to 275 kWh. As a result, it takes only about 20 minutes to go from 0% to 80%. At charging stations that use a 400-volt network, it takes about 40 minutes.
A very nice feature of the Taycan is the range manager. A desired battery percentage can be set upon arrival. The Taycan provides the most efficient route to the destination. Regardless of whether you want to arrive in Groningen with 20% battery power or arrive at your vacation destination a few thousand kilometers away with 50%.
Our opinion
The wide hips, higher headlights, a sleek interior with ascending center console. The Taycan is a real Porsche. Not only in looks, but also in experience. The Porsche feeling is definitely present when you get behind the wheel.
A clean, young and fresh car that will provide many more enjoyable electric rides.
