We don't need to say much about the M4. A first-class performance car that has certainly earned its stripes by now. BMW added the Competition to the lineup, and then came the hardcore variant: the BMW M4 CS, instantly recognizable by its carbon splitter, hood with a large vent, a spoiler on the tailgate, a sports exhaust, OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) taillights borrowed from the M4 GTS, and different (DTM) wheels. Furthermore, every effort was made to save weight through a carbon hood, roof, splitter, spoiler, and diffuser, the absence of map pockets, and grab handles replaced by loops; and naturally, there is also a small power increase to 460 hp. Thanks in part to the dual-clutch DCT transmission, the CS accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and continues to a limited 280 km/h. An estimated 3,000 were produced, and the Netherlands was allocated only 20.
Up for auction this coming week is one of the 20 original Dutch-delivered M4 CSs. Finished in the finest color, San Marino Blue Metallic, with a complete history, still entirely original paint, and as the icing on the cake, an Akrapovic exhaust system.
