BMW M4 CS
We don't need to say much about the M4. A first-class performance car that has certainly earned its stripes by now. BMW added the Competition to the lineup, and then came the hardcore variant: the BMW M4 CS, instantly recognizable by its carbon splitter, hood with a large vent, a spoiler on the tailgate, a sports exhaust, OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) taillights borrowed from the M4 GTS, and different (DTM) wheels that are 19 inches at the front and 20 inches at the rear. Furthermore, every effort has been made to save weight through a carbon hood, roof, splitter, spoiler, and diffuser, the absence of map pockets, and grab handles replaced by loops. The chassis has also been modified with shorter (and stiffer) springs, firm dampers, and modified anti-roll bars. Naturally, there is also a small power increase from 431 hp to 460 hp, and the torque of 600 Nm is sufficient to break traction even on dry roads in the first 3 gears. The M4 CS is only available with the dual-clutch DCT gearbox and accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, continuing to a limited top speed of 280 km/h. The choice of body colors was limited to San Marino Blue, Lime Rock Grey, Alpine White, and Sapphire Black. We can confidently say that this was BMW's GT3 of 2017. An estimated 3,000 were produced, and the Netherlands was allocated only 20.
Now in our auction is one of the 20 original Dutch-delivered M4 CSs. Finished in the finest color, San Marino Blue Metallic, with a complete history, still entirely original paint, and as the icing on the cake, an Akrapovic exhaust system. Not tuned and not tampered with. The first Dutch owner paid over 150,000 euros at BMW dealer Van Poelgeest in Amstelveen. They didn't offer discounts because there were only 20 available! Fortunately, the car didn't end up in a garage or a trailer queen and was used with some regularity. The M4 CS is dealer-maintained and in perfect condition. The last service took place at BMW specialist Droog in Sassenheim (who sometimes also fixes dealer issues...). We advise the next owner to be very careful with speed bumps and curbs, because a new carbon front spoiler costs over 3,600 euros. The last owner had the PPF film removed because it was starting to discolour slightly. Partly due to the protective film, the paintwork is still in excellent condition.
Our opinion
In the "pre-pig nose" era, this was/is undoubtedly one of the finest M-series BMW has ever made. A true driver's car and, as already mentioned, a fine Porsche GT3 alternative, with a bit more practicality (rear seats and luggage space). A car that is perfectly suitable for a drive to the Alps, but also for a track day or just a quick trip to the bakery. Naturally, it is a car to cherish, as it is rare and special, and can be used for scenic drives or the occasional lap of the Nordschleife for those who dare!
