Alpina is officially a brand, but it originally started out as just an ordinary tuner of BMWs with the BMW 1500 in the sixties. Alpina always goes a little further than a “normal” tuner and has become a true car manufacturer with its own chassis numbers. The B4 Grand Coupe was introduced in early 2022 and is based on the BMW 440iX Grand Coupé, receiving a modified G80 M4 engine with 495 hp and no less than 730 Nm of torque. The ZF automatic transmission ensures flawless acceleration of 3.7 seconds to 100 km/h. The Alpinas are, of course, recognizable by the famous stripes and the 20-inch Alpina wheels. Truly everything has been scrutinized and improved by Alpina, matching or even surpassing the performance of the M models with better comfort. It is remarkable that Alpina was recently acquired by BMW, meaning the “real” Alpinas are no longer being made. Coming to our auction this coming week is a very special Alpina B4 Grand Coupé from the first owner, of which fewer than 10 examples are driving around in the Netherlands.
