Sold - Abarth 695 1.4 T-Jet Esseesse 70th Anniversary
Italian tuner/car manufacturer Abarth is blowing out 70 candles this year. In 1949, Carlo Abarth, an ingenious Italian, began making small, fast Fiat under his own surname. Exactly seven decades ago. Reason enough to get the garlands out of the attic. That's where the limited to 1,949 Abarth 695 70th Anniversario with 180 hp was offered. The edition refers (of course) to the year of its creation.
This particular Abarth is from the 2nd owner and extremely well maintained by the 2 owners. Maintained perhaps does not quite cover it, say pampered. With a uniquely low mileage of 10,000km, this is another Collectable par excellence. Executed in Circuit Grey.
The color schemes of 'Circuit Grey' are unique and refer to the original Abarth 500 that had the necessary race victories and records at Monza to its account. That gray color is interspersed with a gray contrast shade for the body kit. Really striking about this Abarth is the size of the roof spoiler. The one is a reference to the wing designed by Carlo Abarth himself, is adjustable to 12 different positions and proudly bears the brand logo. In its most vertical arrangement, the spoiler forms a 60-degree angle that allows rear passengers to see the brand name.
According to the Italians, the spoiler provides 42 pounds of downforce at 200 km/h. Italian engineers spent a lot of time and attention on the design of the air scoop, called "Spoiler ad Assetto Variabile" ("adjustable spoiler" in Dutch), to perfect it as much as possible.
Under the hood of this one is a 180 hp/250 Nm version of the 1.4-liter turbocharged gasoline engine. You can't get more power and torque in this Abarth model type. It is good for a top speed of 225 km/h, and acceleration to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds. The car is also equipped with a limited slip differential and xenon headlights which are also part of the standard equipment.
17-inch rims from OZ and brake gear from Brembo are also present on the 695 70th Anniversario. Abarth installs 305 mm front and 240 mm rear discs topped by 4 red calipers. Under the bumper are four Record Monza exhaust pipes. The car features the recognizable Abarth details such as on the hood a scorpion, and the block pattern on the roof, which is a nod to the roof of the original Abarth 695 from the 1960s.
On the inside are specific bucket seats from Sabelt, and there is a numbered nameplate on the center tunnel ("one of 1949"). The Abarth 695 70th Anniversario offers the necessary luxury in the form of an infotainment system with 7-inch touchscreen equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
