The Porsche 993 is beloved not only because it is the last air-cooled 911, but also because of the combination of its classic styling with modern performance and driving characteristics. The best of both worlds. While the 964 was already a technical metamorphosis compared to the Carrera 3.2, the 993 went even further with a more streamlined body, advanced rear suspension, and an improved 3.6-liter boxer engine. Various versions of the 993 were brought to market, such as the coupe, convertible, and targa, as well as sporty versions like the Turbo, RS, and special editions such as the GT2. Yet, the coupe with a manual gearbox remains the purest form. The four-wheel drive system was thoroughly modified compared to the 964, meaning the 993 drives just like a rear-wheel drive car with the benefits of extra drive whenever you need it. Coming to our auction this coming week is a neat Carrera 4 with some mileage, perfectly suited as a true driver's car or daily driver.
