Porsche 964 Turbo
Porsche and Turbo, both are inseparable. In 1974 Porsche launched the first street-legal Turbo after many successes in racing. Due to the somewhat unpredictable nature of the engine and the not yet perfected suspension, many ended up at the bottom of the slip road with the nose in the wrong direction. Not for nothing was it called the "widowmaker." After the 3 liter was replaced by the 3.3 liter and, in the final stage, even fitted with a 5-speed gearbox, the Turbo version could not be left out of the completely redesigned 964 series either. Thanks to a refined suspension and electronic engine management, the 964 3.3 Turbo (factory designation M30/69) was much more manageable. Power rose to 320hp and came in nicely gradual deployments. Maximum torque of 450 Nm is released at 4500t/m when the turbo delivers its maximum pressure of 0.7 bar.
Surely this 964 Turbo is a gem with its subdued color scheme, original 18-inch Speedline wheels that were standard under the 964 3.6 Turbo (you know the one from the Bad Boys movie with Will Smith, in which the 964 Turbo played an important role). Also prominent, of course, are the wide rear wings and spoiler. No show, but much needed to bring and keep the brutality on the street. Moreover, this way the intercooler is provided with plenty of fresh air for maximum efficiency.
Only 3660 examples of the 964 3.3 Turbo were manufactured. A number of examples have met a nasty end or have been used for, let's put it mildly, dubious tuning projects. Many cars have been used for long journeys, for which it is ideally suited, but as a result often have considerable mileage. "Our" example has driven only 72,550 verifiable miles and is still completely in its first paint. Slight stone chips and a scratch on the front bumper are silent witnesses. For the past 20 years the car has been in a collection and has only been driven sporadically to keep it in condition. Hence the particularly low mileage.
Originally delivered in Germany and came to the Netherlands in 1998. Subsequently, according to Finnik, the car has had 3 owners. The last owner took care of the car for 16 years and regularly warmed it up.
Our Opinion
A completely untouched 964 Turbo with this low mileage and completely in first paint. Just try to find it. As far as we are concerned an icon of a car in the best Porsche tradition equipped with a Turbo with corresponding performance. At that time rightly a supercar and today a wanted and sought after example, especially in this condition!
