The third-generation M3, commonly known by its E46 code, is perhaps the flagship of the M family. Perhaps even the showpiece of BMW. A bold claim perhaps, but if there is a better hybrid between classic style and modern performance, we have yet to encounter it.
The E46 is actually a flawless combination between everything you desire. Little to no understeer, and oversteer only when you force it. The suspension is stiff, but comfortable enough when the road surface is not too bad. The 343-hp Line 6 provides ample power when desired. Leather sports seats that are also comfortable, but also definitely hold you well.
Although a BMW SMG automatic doesn't disappoint (especially if you use it for what it was made for), it's very cool that this is an ''old-fashioned'' (and highly sought-after) manual transmission. It still provides more feeling while driving. Intermediate throttle yourself, being responsible for the clutch yourself. And choose the revs of the 5 times Engine of the Year award winning S54 engine.
Originally, this M3 was delivered in Belgium. It comes from the collection of the owner of Bilia Verstraeten (BMW dealer). Since 2022 the E46 is on Dutch registration in the name of the current owner.
Where many E46's have now been renamed to Ring-racer with semi-slicks, bucket seats and a roll cage, this example is neatly preserved and in very good original condition!
Our opinion
This E46 is actually just the way you want it. Hand switched, only 48 thousand kilometers(!), neatly (dealer) maintained, Titanium Silver Metallic with a black leather interior and from only the 3rd owner. As far as we are concerned a once in a lifetime car ...
