About this Collectable
This is a VAT-exempt lot, your bid includes VAT.
The Golf V had a relatively short lifespan. It was introduced in 2003 and discontinued in 2008. Its successor, you guessed it, the Golf VI, had a slightly updated exterior, but was more of a Golf 5.5 than a completely new model. The Golf V featured a four-link rear axle for the first time, which significantly improved handling. Thanks to the newly developed rear axle, Volkswagen was also able to use the Golf V platform for heavier models, such as the VW Touran. However, the V wasn't as successful as its predecessor, the Golf IV. Nevertheless, the Golf V was available in numerous variants and versions, with the GTi naturally capturing the imagination. The most unique Golf V was a so-called "Einzelstück" (Einzelstück) with a 6-liter W12 biturbo engine from Audi behind the front seats.
The example offered here was built in 2004 and has only 18 kilometers on the odometer. It is a right-hand drive model intended for the Asian market. There are some minor damages to the car. There's little that can go wrong, as there's little to spare.
This lot is part of the unique modern classic car collection from the Audi factory in Brussels, which has been brought to the Netherlands.
Our opinion
A Golf with less than 100 km on the odometer is hard to find. This makes sense, as everyone bought such a car to drive. Right-hand drive is certainly a drawback, but sometimes very useful for parking.
