Renault Clio (3) RS 2.0-16V
The Renault Clio RS has now reached classic status. Equipped with a 2-litre 16-valve engine with a whopping 200hp and all that without a turbo. A high-revving little engine that, coupled with a 6-speed gearbox with short transmissions, guarantees spectacle.
The 3rd series Clio RS is the first and last Clio with more than just a fat engine in the standard bodywork. The front and rear wings were widened considerably because of the increased track width and the rear was fitted with a diffuser. Furthermore, the RS got a dual exhaust system and widened bumpers to match the wide bodywork.
Depending on the version, the interior was fitted with sports seats and climate control.
All in all, a bombshell on wheels. Partly because the wheels sit nicely on the corners of the car, the Clio (3) RS looks nice and wide. Not only optically beautiful, but also in terms of steering it is a fantastic little car. Just goes to show that 200hp is enough to have a lot of fun. The short gearbox ratios keep the engine revving nicely and ensure that it is always on target. Thanks to the very well-guided suspension and Pirelli P-zero tyres, the Clio always steers in and by playing with the throttle, oversteer is even callable!
The Clio RS offered by us is an originally Dutch delivered car and not jacked up on the circuit. The current (4th) owner has owned it for a year and had the necessary maintenance done immediately after delivery last year, including a service with all fluids, a new timing belt and a new water pump. In addition, the exhaust manifold was replaced earlier this year. The Clio is in good condition, has a completed service booklet and, with an annual mileage of less than 7500km per year, an attractive (NAP logical!) mileage.

Our opinion
We already wrote it, a classic with a very high fun factor. The Clio RS not only has the looks, but also the driving characteristics that matter. Many Clios proved themselves on the track during the Clio Cup and it is still a sought-after car for trackdays and races. The base is already tremendously good which makes the car, especially on twisty roads, a huge amount of fun. Prices are rising every year and original Nedrlands delivered with relatively low mileage rare, so grope while you can.

Remarks
This Clio RS is in good condition and completely up-to-date during the last service with fresh fluids, a new timing belt and water pump. Apart from signs of use belonging to age / mileage and some kerb damage, sometimes the windscreen wiper does not come to zero. The current owner had new Pirelli P-Zero tyres fitted to the front at the time of purchase.
