About this Collectable
In the last year that the 2nd generation 911, the 'G' model, was delivered, Porsche came up with the almost legendary Speedster. Unfortunately, prices also rose legendary... But, almost as "thick" and in terms of driving just as well, there is an alternative. The 911 Cabriolet WTL (Werks Turbo Look M491) G-50.
This car was delivered on June 13, 1989 by the official Porsche dealer in Beverly Hills. Its first owner was none other than Rex King, the tour manager of rock band Led Zeppelin. His own "Stairway to Heaven" in the color Schiefer-Metallic. Several maintenance invoices are available in his name.
The Porsche was bought in 2010 by a German collector who adapted the car to European standards and immediately returned it to perfect condition, both technically and optically. The parts damaged with stone chips were repainted, the Turbo spoiler was removed (is of course still present), fresh tires, etc. etc. This is of course also fully documented. The current owner found this car in Germany, went to see the car, had it inspected by a well-known Porsche specialist on the second visit and finally drove the Porsche home on April 30, 2012 (Queen's Day at the time).
It is worth mentioning that there is a certificate of "matching numbers" issued by Porsche from October 6, 2011, requested by the German collector at the time. The documentation, booklets and photos confirm the correctness of the mileage. We are assured that the car has a damage-free history. The presence of all the stickers that Porsche attached to the car during the production process and a 'clean' Carfax confirm this.
A neatly documented 911 Cabrio WTL is scarce and this flawless specimen is still a popular model for drivers and collectors alike. All documentation is available on request. The Porsche can of course be viewed by appointment and, in consultation, any desired inspection can be carried out.
